NEHC Men's Weekly Honors - Week Nine

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, January 19th. New England College’s David Novotny (Boca Raton, Fla.) secured Player of the Week honors. Hobart’s Damon Beaver (Whitby, Ontario) was selected Goaltender of the Week while Vermont State Castleton’s Luke Chakrabarti (White Rock, British Columbia) earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Player of the Week

David Novotny - New England College
(Senior, Forward - Boca Raton, Fla.)
Novotny exploded for four goals this week, willing NEC to a pair of conference victories over Skidmore College. On Friday night, Novotny jumpstarted the Pilgrim offense with a highlight-worthy score in a game they would win, 3-1. On Saturday, Novotny shined with a second period hat trick - the first of his career - to lead NEC to a dominant 5-2 victory over the Thoroughbreds. Novotny now sits tied for third in the conference with nine goals.
