Women's Weekly Release

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, January 27. The Castleton University duo of Jocelyn Forrest (Prince George, B.C.) and Rylie Willis (Sioux Lookout, Ont.) were honored as Player and Goaltender of the Week respectively. Cianna Weir (Olds, Alta.) of New England College earned Rookie of the Week distinction.

Player of the Week
Jocelyn Forrest - Castleton University
(Senior, Forward - Prince George, B.C.)

player Forrest scored five points for the Spartans during a 1-1-1 week, which featured a 3-3-overtime tie with defending national champion Norwich. Forest recorded the primary assist on the Spartans' first goal of the contest and then potted the game-tying goal on the power play as the Spartans earned a key point in the NEHC standings. On Saturday, in a 3-2 overtime victory against Plymouth State, the senior forward assisted on the first Spartan score and proceeded to net the next two goals, including the game-winner just over two minutes into overtime.

Goaltender of the Week
Rylie Willis - Castleton University
(Senior, Goaltender - Sioux Lookout, Ont.)

player Putting together the most impressive three-game stretch of her career, Wills started all three games during the week, logging more than 185 minutes of playing time en route to a 1-1-1 slate. The Sioux Lookout, Ontario native sent aside 121 shots, averaging more than 40 per game to the tune of a .945 save percentage. Wills was especially impressive on the penalty kill, stopping 8-of-9 opportunities, including going 6-of-7 against the free-firing offenses of defending champion No. 6/4 Norwich and Endicott.

Rookie of the Week
Cianna Weir - New England College
(Freshman, Goaltender - Olds, Alta.)

player Weir made 54 saves on 56 shots as she kept the Pilgrims within striking distance of the high-powered Suffolk offense. The goaltender helped anchor a defense that held off the Rams' power-play attack, surrendering only one goal on six opportunities. Weir also recorded her 600th save of the season in the losing effort.

Honor Roll

Tess Adams - Suffolk University
(Senior, Forward - Calgary Alta.)

Adams recorded three goals and one assist in a 2-0-0 weekend for the Rams. The senior forward tallied two goals (including the ultimate game-winner) in Friday's 3-1 win over UMass Boston. She followed that with a goal and an assist in Saturday's 3-0 win over New England College.
