Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, February 4. Jane Morrisette (Pembroke, Mass.) of UMass Boston was recognized as Player of the Week. Castleton University's Alexis Kalm (Aberdeen, N.C.) and University of Southern Maine's Rylie Binette (Milan, N.H.) earned Goaltender and Rookie of the Week honors respectively.

Player of the Week
Jane Morrisette – UMass Boston
(Senior, Forward– Pembroke, Mass.)

player Morrisette had an unbelievable weekend for the Beacons as she helped lead UMB to a pair of dramatic wins. On Friday against USM she assisted on the game-tying goal with 14 seconds left in the third and then beat the Huskies' defense to score the shorthanded overtime game-winner. She followed that on Saturday with the game-winner against UNE with 20 seconds left in regulation on a snipe to the top far corner.

Goaltender of the Week
Alexis Kalm – Castleton University
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Aberdeen, N.C.)

player Kalm notched two shutouts over the weekend as the Spartans earned a crucial four points in the league standings. She turned aside 19 shots in Friday's win over NEC and followed that with 28 saves against Plymouth State on Saturday.

Rookie of the Week
Rylie Binette – University of Southern Maine
(Freshman, Forward – Milan, N.H.)

player Binette had a goal and an assist in both USM games this weekend. Against UMass Boston, Binette assisted on the first goal of the game, and scored a second-period goal that put USM up 3-1 at the time. The next night at Salve Regina, Binette assisted on USM's first goal to tie the game in the first period, and added an insurance marker with a minute to play.



Honor Roll

Amanda Conway – Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Methuen, Mass.)

Conway tallied seven points on the week to lead Norwich to a 3-0-0 mark. She scored four goals and notched three assists. Conway had a goal and an assist vs. Castleton, a goal vs. Plymouth and then a big four-point night with two goals and two assists vs. NEC.

Rachel Myette – UMass Boston
(Senior, Goaltender– Duxbury, Mass.)

Myette notched her seventh career shutout in the Beacons' 1-0 win over University of New England on Saturday. The senior netminder turned aside 20 shots to preserve the win for UMB.
