Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, January 21. Norwich University's Adrieana Rossini (Malden, Mass.) was recognized as the league's Player of the Week. University of New England teammates Cay Flagg (Methuen, Mass.) and Jessie Scott (Barre, Vt.) earned Goaltender and Rookie of the Week honors respectively.

Player of the Week
Adrieana Rossini – Norwich University
(Junior, Forward– Malden, Mass.)

player Rossini scored five goals on the week, including at least one in every game to lead the Cadets to a 2-0-1 week. She scored the game-winning goal vs. NEC as part of a two-goal game. She added two more goals vs. Endicott and then scored the game-tying goal in the third period to tie Elmira. Rossini finished as a +5 plus minus rating on the week.

Goaltender of the Week
Caty Flagg – University of New England
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Methuen, Mass.)

player Flagg helped lead UNE to a 1-1-1 week. The sophomore recorded an impressive 46 saves in a hard fought loss to Bowdoin on Tuesday. She followed that by earning the tie against Southern Maine on Friday before turning aside nine shots to earn the shutout against the Huskies on Saturday. Her 71 saves on the week were good for a .934 save percentage.

Rookie of the Week
Jessie Scott – University of New England
(Freshman, Forward – Barre, Vt.)

player Scott notched four points on two goals and two assists on the week for the Nor'easters. The freshman factored in every goal in UNE's 3-2 loss against Bowdoin, tallying an assist and adding an unassisted goal late in the third. She also added a goal and an assist in Saturday's win over in-state rival, Southern Maine.



Honor Roll

Jane Morrisette – UMass Boston
(Senior, Forward–Pembroke, Mass.)

Morrisette had a huge weekend for the Beacons as they swept Salve Regina University in their home-home series with the Seahawks. The senior registered back-to-back two goal games for the first time in her college career and also finished with a +3 rating as the Beacons scored seven times in the series.

Kailey Jacobs – Plymouth State University
(Sophomore, Forward –Westwod, Mass.)

Jacobs had four points in three games for Plymouth State. She recorded a pair of goals in a 3-3 tie with Oswego State on Wednesday, and then added single assists in a loss to Oswego State on Thursday and a shutout of New England College on Saturday.
