Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, November 19. Norwich University's Sarah Schwenzfeier (Hingham, Mass.) earned Player of the Week honors. Emelie Lindqvist (Gullerasen, Sweden) of Plymouth State University was recognized as Goaltender of the Week while University of New England's Jessie Scott (Barre, Vt.) was named Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week
Sarah Schwenzfeier – Norwich University
(Senior, Forward– Hingham, Mass.)

player Schwenzfeier had an incredible week, averaging three points a game with three goals and six assists for nine points in three games. Schwenzfeier established a new single game career high with five points in Friday's win over Southern Maine with 1 goal and four assists. Schwenzfeier finished an incredible +14 plus/minus rating on the week.

Goaltender of the Week
Emelie Lindqvist – Plymouth State University
(Junior, Goaltender – Gullerasen, Sweden)

player Lindqvist posted 80 saves and surrendered only one goal on the weekend to lead the Panthers to a 1-0-1 weekend in NEHC play. On Friday night the junior netminder accumulated a career-high 50 saves to secure a 1-1 tie with UMass Boston. She followed that performance with a 30-save shutout victory over Salve Regina.

Rookie of the Week
Jessie Scott – University of New England
(Freshman, Forward – Barre, Vt.)

player Scott notched two unassisted goals as the Nor'easters overcame a 2-0 deficit to earn the tie against Castleton University. Her first goal came at the end of the first period to cut the Spartans lead 2-1. She then got the scoring going only 41 seconds into the second period to tie the game at 2.



Honor Roll

Samantha Benoit – Norwich University
(Freshman, Defense – Bow, N.H.)

Benoit recorded three assists on the week and has now tallied in seven of nine games this season. Benoit was a +10 plus minus rating on the week as well.

Jane Morrisette – UMass Boston
(Junior, Forward – Pembroke, Mass.)

Morrisette had another two-goal weekend for the Beacons as they collected a crucial 3-points in the standings. She registered the game-tying goal on Friday against Plymouth State University, scoring the goal with just two minutes left in the third period. In Saturday's win over NEC, she scored the first goal of the game, and the fastest goal of her career to start a game, only 32 seconds into the first period.

Laurie King – Norwich University
(Senior, Goaltender – Waddington, N.Y.)

King made 23 saves on 24 shots to go 2-0-0 on the week. She picked up her 17th career shutout in a 9-0 win over Castleton on Tuesday night to tie Celeste Robert for the program all-time record.
