Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, February 5. Franklin Pierce University teammates Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska) and Shannon O'Neil (Tewsbury, Mass.) were recognized as Player and Goaltender of the Week respectively. Margaret Ready (Centerville, Mass.) of Nichols College earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Player of the Week
Marisa Ketterman – Franklin Pierce University
(Senior, Forward– Palmer, Alaska)

player Ketterman tallied two goals and two assists in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens. The senior dished out two assists, including the game-winner, as well as her 50th career assist, in a 3-2 win at UMass Boston on Friday. She followed that by scoring twice in a 3-0 win at Southern Maine on Saturday.

Goaltender of the Week
Shannon O'Neil – Franklin Pierce University
(Senior, Goaltender – Tewksbury, Mass.)

player O'Neil played every minute in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens. On Friday, she made 27 saves against 29 shots to pick up a win at UMass Boston. On Saturday the senior stopped all 20 shots she faced to post a shutout at Southern Maine.

Rookie of the Week
Margaret Ready - Nichols College
(Freshman, Forward – Centerville, Mass.)

player Ready scored the game-winner in overtime for the Bison as they defeated Plymouth State University 5-4 to land Nichols its first win of the season. The first year forward knocked home the winning tally with just over 30 seconds remaining in the overtime period to earn the victory.



Honor Roll

Nicole Mensi – Manhattanville College
(Sophomore, Forward – Mamaroneck, N.Y

Mensi scored four goals over three games for the Valiants to push her league leading total to 16. She notched two goals in a nonconference tilt against Lebanon Valley College before adding two more against Saint Michael's College on Friday.

Rachel Myette – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Junior, Goaltender – Duxbury, Mass.)

Myette totaled 60 saves in a 1-1 weekend for the Beacons. She posted a 63-minute shutout victory over the University of New England on Saturday. The win over UNE was the first-ever for the Beacons over the Nor'Easters She totaled 29 saves in the victory. On Friday she made 31 stops in a tough 3-2 loss to Franklin Pierce University.

Elizabeth Scala – College of the Holy Cross
(Senior, Forward – Rumford, R.I.)

Scala recorded five points last week to help the Crusaders pick up a pair of home victories. First on Thursday, Scala tallied a team-leading four points on two goals and two assists, as Holy Cross downed Nichols, 9-1. Then on Saturday, Scala registered one goal on a one-timer back-handed score in the first period versus Norwich, as the Crusaders edged the Cadets, 2-1.

Adrieana Rossini – Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Malden, Mass.)

Rossini scored three goals and tallied an assist on the week for the Cadets. She scored twice in a 6-1 win over Castleton on Friday and then she scored NU's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Holy Cross on Saturday.

Erin Dwyer – Saint Michael's College
(Senior, Forward– Weymouth, Mass.)

Dwyer scored three goals during an 0-2 weekend for the Purple Knights. The senior forward tallied one goal in Friday's loss to Manhattanville. She followed that by notching her team's only goals in a 3-2 loss to Salve Regina on Saturday. Her second goal left the Purple Knights up 2-1 heading into the third period.
