Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, February 12. Hannah Rose (Kenora, Ont.) of Castleton University earned Player of the Week accolades. University of Massachusetts Boston's Rachel Myette (Duxbury, Mass.) and Norwich University's Kirsten Watts (Chugiak, Alaska) were named Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
Hannah Rose - Castleton University
(Junior, Forward– Kenora, Ont.)

player Rose amassed five goals and added one assist for a six-point weekend to help lead Castleton to two league victories. The junior tallied two goals in a 4-0 win over Southern Maine on Friday, before enjoying a career game on Saturday with three goals and an assist for her first career hat trick in a 6-4 win over UNE.

Goaltender of the Week
Rachel Myette – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Junior, Goaltender – Duxbury, Mass.)

player Myette recorded 47 saves in a 2-0 effort this past week for the Beacons. The junior netminder registered 21 saves including five in the final minute of the third period in the Beacons 2-1 overtime win over New England College. She then posted 26 stops in the 3-1 win over Plymouth State University on Saturday.

Rookie of the Week
Kirsten Watts – Norwich University
(Freshman, Forward – Chugiak, Alaska)

player Watts had a breakout offensive weekend, tallying two assists in each game for a four-point weekend in wins over University of New England and Southern Maine. She assisted on the first goal in both games and finished with nine shots on goal and a +3 plus/minus rating on the weekend.



Honor Roll

Alex Brolsma – Franklin Pierce University
(Senior, Forward – Bloomington, N.Y.)

Brolsma tallied four goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Ravens. She scored twice on Tuesday night in an 8-0 win over Post and then followed with two goals and two assists for a four-point outing in a 6-0 win over New England College on Saturday.

Isabela Bagi – College of the Holy Cross
(Senior, Defender – Branford, Conn.)

Bagi recorded six assists on the weekend, as Holy Cross went 2-0 for its final road trip of the regular season. Bagi first tallied a pair of assists in the 3-1 win over Salve Regina before registering four more assists the following day at Manhattanville, leading the Crusaders to a 7-0 shutout victory.

Sarah Schwenzfeier – Norwich University
(Junior, Forward – Hingham, Mass.)

Schwenzfeier notched her second collegiate hat trick as part of a four-point night in a 5-0 win over Southern Maine on Saturday. She also tallied an assist in a win over UNE on Friday for a five-point week. Schwenzfeier led the team with 12 shots and finished with a +5 plus-minus rating on the weekend.

Alex Starzyk – Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Forward– Enfield, Conn.)

Starzyk tallied three goals and four assists and was +5 for Saint Anselm in a 12-1 victory over St. Michael's on Saturday. Her seven points were the second-highest single-game total in program history and moved her into fourth all-time at Saint Anselm with 112 career points.
