Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, December 4. Adrieana Rossini (Malden, Mass.) of Norwich University earned Player of the Week honors while her teammate, Laurie King (Waddington, N.Y.) was named Goaltender of the Week. University of Massachusetts Boston's Kateri McClellan (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Saint Anselm College's Amanda Conger (Swanton, Vt.) were selected as Co-Rookies of the Week.

Player of the Week
Adrieana Rossini – Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Malden, Mass.)

player Rossini scored the game-tying goal with 30 seconds left with an extra-attacker on the ice to help Norwich tie No. 2 Elmira 2-2 on Saturday in their only contest of the week.

Goaltender of the Week
Laurie King – Norwich University
(Junior, Goaltender – Waddington, N.Y.)

player King set a new career-high with 35 saves to help Norwich hand No. 2-ranked Elmira its first blemish on an otherwise perfect season in a 2-2 tie on Saturday. King was incredible all game long for the Cadets, including making 13 of 14 saves when getting outshot 14-3 in the first period.

Co-Rookies of the Week
Kateri McClellan – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Freshman, Forward – Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.)

player Scored her first collegiate goal, which was also the OT game-winner on Saturday in the 3-2 victory over William Smith College to keep the Beacons' undefeated home streak alive.

Amanda Conger – Saint Anselm College
(Freshman, Forward – Swanton, Vt.)

player Conger netted the game-winning goal late in the second period in Saint Anselm's 3-2 win over NEHC rival Holy Cross on Friday. The goal was her fifth of the season and extended her point streak to three games before a 2-2 tie at Bowdoin on Saturday.



Honor Roll

Alex Starzyk – Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Forward – Enfield, Conn.)

Starzyk became the sixth player in program history to tally 100 career points by recording a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over NEHC rival Holy Cross on Friday evening. Starzyk set up the opening goal and scored to tie the score at 2-2 midway through the second period.

Alexa Scribner – New England College
(Sophomore, Forward – Falmouth, Mass.)

Scribner scored two of the Pilgrims' three goals in their 3-2 win over Johnson & Wales on Saturday. She netted the first goal of the game and then potted the game-winner in the second period. The goals marked the first and second of her season.

Laura Christie – Nichols College
(Junior, D/F– Hudson, Mass.)

In the most productive scoring weekend of the season so far for the Bison – Christie had a part in each of the Bison's three goals. In a 2-2 tie of the Becker Hawks on Friday night, Christie assisted two Bison juniors on scoring their first collegiate goals. Christie also scored a goal of her own in a 4-1 loss to the Hawks on Saturday evening. Despite missing the first four games of the year due to injury, Christie now leads the Bison in goals (2), assists (3), and points (5) on the year.
