Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, November 6. Norwich University's Sarah Schwenzfeier (Hingham, Mass.) and teammate Linnea Odbratt (Gothenburg, Sweden) were named league Player and Rookie of the Week respectively. Shannon O'Neil (Tewksbury, Mass.) of Franklin Pierce earned Goaltender of the Week recognition.

Player of the Week
Sarah Schwenzfeier Norwich University
(Junior, Forward Hingham, Mass.)

player Schwenzfeier scored her first career hat trick to lead Norwich to a 7-4 victory over Manhattanville on Saturday. She also tallied an assist for a four-point night. In total, she had five points on the weekend as she also scored in a 5-0 win over Salve Regina. She has a team-leading +4 plus/minus rating through two games.

Goaltender of the Week
Shannon O'Neil Franklin Pierce University
(Senior, Goaltender Tewksbury, Mass.)

player O'Neil made 38 saves and allowed just one goal in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens. The senior goaltender stopped all 17 shots she faced on Friday to post a shutout at Saint Michael's and then stopped 21 of 22 shots on Saturday at University of New England.

Rookie of the Week
Linnea Odbratt Norwich University
(Freshman, Forward Gothenburg, Sweden)

player Odbratt had an impressive debut weekend, scoring three goals and two assists for five points in two victories. She led the Cadets with two goals in a 5-0 win over Salve Regina. She then tallied three points in a 7-4 win over Manhattanville.



Honor Roll

Lisa Kilroy Castleton University
(Senior, Forward Leominster, Mass.)

Kilroy was involved in all four goals this week for Castleton, recording one goal and three assists in a 1-1 week for the team. On Friday, Nov. 4, she led the team with two assists in a hard fought 3-2 loss at Manhattanville, before scoring the first goal of the game and later adding an assist on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Salve Regina on Saturday.

Kara Violette College of the Holy Cross
(Junior, Forward Biddeford, Maine)

Violette tallied four points, consisting of three assists and a goal in the 5-3 win over Plymouth State in the Crusaders' conference opener on Nov. 4. The junior leads Holy Cross in scoring with seven points (three goals; four assists), good for ranking second in the NEHC.

Alison Butler Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Forward Danvers, Mass.)

Butler matched her career-high with five points on two goals and three assists as Saint Anselm set a school-record for goals in a 14-0 win over Nichols on Saturday. The night before, the senior had two assists in a 4-0 win over No. 10 UMass Boston. Butler currently leads the NEHC with eight points in just three games.

Rachael Brazil Castleton University
(Senior, Goaltender Braintree, Mass.)

Going 1-0-0 in the week, Brazil led Castleton to its first win of the season with a career-high 37 saves in a 2-1 win over Salve Regina on Saturday, Nov. 5. After giving up a goal in the opening minutes, Brazil buckled down for 34 consecutive saves without allowing a goal throughout the rest of the contest.
