Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, November 20. Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.) of Franklin Pierce University was named Player of the Week. Plymouth State University's Mariah Trupp (Topeka, Kansas) earned Goaltender of the Week honors while Castleton University's Alexis Kalm (Aberdeen, N.C.) was selected as Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week
Alex Brolsma – Franklin Pierce University
(Junior, Forward– Bloomington, Minn.)

player Brolsma tallied three goals and six assists for an impressive nine points in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens. The junior forward scored a goal and added an assist in Friday afternoon's win at Post. She then piled up a program-record seven points on two goals and five assists in Saturday afternoon's win at Post.

Goaltender of the Week
Mariah Trupp – Plymouth State University
(Junior, Goaltender – Topeka, Kansas.)

player Trupp recorded 39 saves on 41 shots in Saturday's victory over Salve Regina University. The junior netminder turned aside all 16 shots she faced in the third period to secure the victory for the Panthers as they improve to 2-3-0 in the NEHC.

Rookie of the Week
Alexis Kalm – Castleton University
(Freshman, Goaltender – Aberdeen, N.C.)

player In just her second career start, Kalm earned her first career win in net on Saturday making 24 saves in a 2-1 win over nationally-ranked UMass-Boston. The freshman helped spark her team to a key conference win after back-to-back losses. Kalm is now 1-1-0 on the season with a .920 save percentage, allowing just 2.01 goals per game.



Honor Roll

Melissa Stys – Manhattanville College
(Junior, Forward –Pequannock, N.J.)

Stys scored two goals in a win over Plymouth State and recorded two points including the game-winning goal in overtime vs. New England College on Saturday.

Alex Starzyk – Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Forward – Enfield, Conn.)

Starzyk had a five-point weekend as Saint Anselm recorded 4-0 wins at both Castleton and Saint Michael's on Friday and Saturday. The senior had a goal and an assist on Friday at Castleton and two goals and one assist on Saturday at Saint Michael's.

Alexis Fagan – Plymouth State University
(Freshman, Forward - Wakefield, RI)

Fagan tallied a goal and two assists Saturday in her only game of the week, a 4-2 victory over Salve Regina.

Celeste Robert – Norwich University
(Senior, Goaltender – Rouyn-Noranda, Que.)

Robert made a season-high 41 saves to help Norwich nearly upset No. 1 ranked Plattsburgh on Wednesday night. The save total was the second highest of her career as she stopped 41 of 43 shots to give the Cadets a fighting chance, but Plattsburgh added a late empty net goal with 0.6 seconds left to win 3-1.

Sam Girard – College of the Holy Cross
(Sophomore, Forward – Dedham, Mass.)

Girard led the Crusaders with four points consisting of two goals and two assists in Holy Cross' 6-2 win over Southern Maine on Friday. Girard's six goals rank second in the conference, while she has tallied at least one point in five of six games this year.
