MARSHFIELD, Mass. Aimee Briand (Barrington, N.H.) of Castleton University was named to the Team of the Week for her play from January 11 through January 17. Briand was also named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week on Monday.

Briand was a key piece of the Spartan offense on the week, having a hand in four out of the team's five goals while helping Castleton to a pair of victories. The freshman finished the weekend with two goals and two assists, while also winning 56% of her face-offs on Saturday. In a 4-1 win on Friday Plymouth State, Briand recorded two goals and one assist. On Saturday, Briand had an assist on the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over ninth-ranked Norwich. The victory over the Cadets was the first in program history and was the team's second win over a ranked opponent this season.

The Team of the Week recognizes the top performances across the nation in Division III women's hockey. Institutional and conference sports information directors submit nominations for recognition. A selection committee then reviews the nominations and selects an elite group of three forwards, two defenders and one goaltender for recognition.
