MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Jess Cameron (Mt. Mellick, P.E.I.) of Castleton University and Cary Perreault (Berlin, N.H.) of University of New England were named to the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week for their play from November 23 through November 29. Cameron was named New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Goaltender of the Week while Perreault was named Co-Rookie of the Week for the league on Monday.
Cameron was outstanding in goal for the Spartans on the week, compiling 106 saves in two games en route to a 1-1 record. In a Tuesday loss to No. 1 Plattsburgh St., Cameron recorded a career-high 60 saves. On Sunday, the senior netminder followed that up with a 46-save shutout against Williams, her second shutout of the season. Cameron is currently one of just two goaltenders in the nation to hold a save percentage over .950 while averaging more than 30 saves per game.
Perreault recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in the Nor'easters' Sunday victory over Salem State University. With the victory UNE improved to 3-4-1 on the season.
The D3Hockey.com Team of the Week is a new initiative from d3hockey.com that recognizes the top performances across the nation in Division III women's hockey. Institutional and conference sports information directors submit nominations for recognition. A selection committee then reviews the nominations and selects an elite group of three forwards, two defenders and one goaltender for recognition.
