Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, November 1. Marisa Ketterman of Franklin Pierce University, Jess Cameron from Castleton University and Julie Matthias were awarded Player, Goaltender and Rookie of the week respectively for their performances in Week One of the season.

Player of the Week
Marisa Ketterman – Franklin Pierce University
(Junior, Forward – Palmer, Pa.)

player Ketterman recorded back-to-back four-point games in a 2-0 week for the Ravens. On Friday against Daniel Webster the junior tallied two goals and added two assists for a career-high four point game. On Saturday vs. Becker she equaled her point performance but this time scoring four goals en route to the victory. Ketterman became the first player in program history to net four goals in a single game.

Goaltender of the Week
Jess Cameron – Castleton University
(Senior, Goaltender – Mt. Mellick, P.E.I.)

player Cameron led the Spartans to a pair of wins in goal to open the season, stopping 84 shots in Castleton's first two games. In a shutout victory on Friday evening, the senior made 27 saves to guide the Spartans to a 3-0 win over Cortland St. On Saturday, Cameron turned in a career-best performance, recording 57 saves in a 3-2 win over Oswego St.

Rookie of the Week
Julie Matthias – College of the Holy Cross
(Freshman, Forward – Thornton, Colo.)

player Matthias notched her first collegiate goals this weekend, scoring in each of the Crusaders' victories against Sacred Heart. Her first collegiate goal came on Friday as an empty net tally to seal the victory for Holy Cross. On Saturday Matthias opened the scoring just over a minute into the game to give the Crusaders an early 1-0 lead.



Honor Roll

Brianna Keats – Castleton University
(Sophomore, Forward – Calgary, Alta.

Keats helped Castleton get off to a hot start this season, racking up four points in the Spartans' first two games--both of which were victories. After tallying an assist on Friday evening in a 3-0 victory against Cortland St., the sophomore came back with a three-point performance against Oswego St., scoring once while assisting on two more as the Spartans won 3-2.

Jane Morrisette – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Sophomore, Forward – Pembroke, Mass.)

Morrisette led the Beacons in the first two games of the year with 2 goals and 1 assist. The sophomore forward netted both scores in the 4-2 loss at William Smith College in Friday's season opener. Her assist came in game two of the series against the Herons.

Amanda Cronin – Salve Regina University
(Junior, Defense– Medford, Mass.)

Cronin scored twice to bookend Salve Regina's 6-0 victory over Johnson & Wales University. Both of Cronin's goals came on the power-play. She also assisted on the Seahawks third goal, setting up Kimberly Spring for a one-timer in the second period.
