Women's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's weekly awards were announced for play through Sunday, November 22. Kristina Bove of University of Massachusetts Boston (Senior Medford, Mass.) was named Player of the Week while her teammate; Rachel Myette (Sophomore Pembroke, Mass.) earned Co-Goaltender of the Week honors. New England College freshman Lindsay Powers (Stittsville, Ont.) was also named Co-Goaltender of the Week. College of the Holy Cross saw another member of their stout freshman class earn Rookie of the Week accolades in Danielle Doherty (Wakefield, Mass.).

Player of the Week
Kristina Bove University of Massachusetts Boston
(Senior, Forward Medford, Mass.)

player Bove had the biggest weekend of her college career as she helped UMass Boston to their first 4-point weekend of 2015-16. The Medford native recorded a team-leading 3 assists, including her first-ever two-point showing in a 4-2 upset win over St. Anselm on Friday. The two assists also marked the first two points of her college career. She also assisted on the Beacons first goal in Saturday's 3-1 win over Southern Maine.

Co-Goaltenders of the Week
Lindsay Powers New England College
(Freshman, Goaltender Stittsville, Ont.)

player Powers totaled 51 saves picking up two conference victories in net for the Pilgrims this weekend. On Friday night Powers recorded 22 saves in a 3-1 victory over Nichols and followed that performance with 29 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over Plymouth State on Saturday.

Rachel Myette University of Massachusetts Boston
(Sophomore, Goaltender Pembroke, Mass.)

player Myette provided a spark for the Beacons as she led UMB to wins over St. Anselm and Southern Maine this weekend. The sophomore tallied a combined 48 saves in action including a career-high 32 saves in the upset win over St. Anselm on Friday, before finishing with 16 saves in the 3-1 win over Southern Maine Saturday.

Rookie of the Week
Danielle Doherty College of the Holy Cross
(Freshman, Forward Wakefield, Mass.)

player Posted four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in the Crusaders' 2-0-0 weekend. Her goal vs. Plymouth State was the first of her career. The freshman forward currently has seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) in eight games played.



Honor Roll

Rachel Vigliano New England College
(Senior, Forward Monroe, N.J.)

Vigliano netted two goals over the Pilgrims' two victories this weekend. She recorded the third goal in NEC's 3-1 win over Nichols on Friday night and then came up huge netting the game-winning overtime goal in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Plymouth State.

Rachel Bombardier Castleton University
(Senior, Forward Pittsford, Vt.)

Bombardier posted a four-point week while helping the Spartans remain unbeaten on the season. On Friday night, the senior forward scored twice while recording an assist in a 6-2 win over Manhattanville. Bombardier followed that up with an assist on the first goal of a 2-2 draw with Salve Regina on Saturday afternoon. Bombardier finished the week with a +4 rating for the Spartans.

Sam Girard College of the Holy Cross
(Freshman, Forward Dedham, Mass.)

Girard notched four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in the Crusaders' 2-0-0 weekend against Plymouth State and Saint Michael's. The freshman forward leads the team in scoring with 10 points (7goals, 3 assists) in eight games this season.

Adelle Murphy Norwich University
(Junior, Forward Roseau, Minn.)

Murphy had one the finest weekends of her collegiate career, scoring three goals and dishing out one assist for a four-point weekend to help lead the Cadets to two victories. Murphy assisted on the game-winning goal and scored an insurance tally in Friday's 3-0 win over Salve Regina. She scored two more goals to spark the Cadets' offense in a 4-0 win over Manhattanville on Saturday. She leads the team with five goals and three assists for eight points so far this season and has been a big part of NU extending its league unbeaten streak to 39 straight games.

Michelle Holmes Franklin Pierce University
(Junior, Forward Goffstown, N.H.)

Holmes recorded four points (3 goals, 1 assists) in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens. The junior forward tallied two goals and added an assist in Friday night's 7-0 win over Saint Michael's. She also added a goal in Saturday afternoon's 5-3 win over UNE.
