Player of the Week
Brittany Tierney – New England College
(Sophomore, Forward– Ottawa, Ont.)

player Tierney scored twice in NEC's 4-2 win over Salem State on Saturday. She netted the second goal of the contest with time winding down in the first period. She also notched the eventual game-winner halfway through the second to give the Pilgrims a 3-0 lead at the time. The sophomore has a team-leading five goals this season.

Goaltender of the Week
Alexis Kalm - Castleton University
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Aberdeen, N.C.)

player Kalm continued dominating between the pipes, making 36 saves against Morrisville State in a 1-0 Castleton win. The sophomore now has 82 saves in her last 83 shots faced, which converts to a .988 save percentage. Kalm was lights out in the third period, fending off 14 opposing shots to keep the score in favor of the Spartans.

Rookie of the Week
Meghan Moore – New England College
(Freshman, Forward – Centerville, Mass.)

player Moore had a breakout game for NEC on Saturday, tallying the first three points of her career with a goal and two assists in the team's 4-2 win over Salem State. Moore opened the scoring with an unassisted goal 12 minutes into the first period. She then assisted on both of Tierney's goals to secure the Pilgrims' victory.

Player of the Week
Amanda Conway- Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Methuen, Mass.)

player Conway notched six points on the week for Norwich. The sophomore factored into five of the Cadets' seven goals against Trinity College, assisting on four and scoring a goal of her own. She followed that performance with a power play goal against defending national champions, Plattsburgh University on Sunday.

Goaltender of the Week
Alexis Kalm - Castleton University
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Aberdeen, N.C.)

player Kalm led the Spartans to two wins and the tournament title over the weekend in the WSYB Catamount Radio Invitational. In a 2-1 win over Salem State the goaltender stopped 24 of 25 shots, before returning to make 22 saves in the 1-0 victory against Manhattanville. Prior to Sunday's contest, the Valiants were averaging nearly three goals per game. Earning MVP honors, Kalm claimed a .979 save percentage and a 0.50 GAA over the weekend.

Rookie of the Week
Rylie Binette – University of Southern Maine
(Freshman, Forward, Milan, N.H.)

player Binette scored her first two collegiate points in USM's 3-2 win over Saint Michael's in the first day of the Trader Duke's Ice Hockey Classic. Binette had an assist on USM's second goal in the second period, and then scored the game-winning goal in third period.

Player of the Week
Alyssa Hulst - Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Scarborough, Maine)

player Hulst recorded two goals on the weekend for Norwich to lead the No. 1 ranked Cadets to a pair of wins over nonconference opponents. She opened the scoring halfway through the first period on Wednesday, recording the eventual game-winner vs. Amherst. The sophomore forward also notched a goal on Sunday as Norwich rallied to defeat the No. 8/9 ranked Camels of Conn. College.

Goaltender of the Week
Laurie King - Norwich University
(Senior, Goaltender – Waddington, N.Y.)

player King made 39 saves on 41 shots to backstop Norwich to two crucial non-conference wins over Amherst and No. 8/9 Conn. College on the week. She stopped all 19 shots she faced in a 2-0 win over Amherst to record her 18th career shutout and become the NU all-time career shutouts leader. She also made 22 saves on 24 shots to turn away Conn. College in a 4-2 win on Sunday and help Norwich go unbeaten into the holiday break for the first time in program history.

Rookie of the Week
Samantha Benoit – Norwich University
(Freshman, Defense, Bow, N.H.)

player Benoit recorded two assists to help lead No. 1-ranked Norwich to a 4-2 win over No. 8/9 ranked Conn. College on Sunday. She assisted on the game-winning goal to break a 2-2 tie in the third period. Benoit finished as a +2 on the week and ranks second on the team with a +20 plus-minus rating on the season.

Player of the Week
Amanda Fantasia – Salve Regina University
(Sophomore, Defense– Billerica, Mass.)

player Fantasia scored twice in the Seahawks' victory over Johnson & Wales University on Friday and added another goal on the power play versus nationally ranked Endicott College.

Goaltender of the Week
Jennifer O'Connell – Salve Regina University
(Junior, Goaltender – Marston Mills, Mass.)

player O'Connell made 20 saves for the Seahawks in their 6-3 victory over Johnson & Wales and then made 54 stops versus #7 ranked Endicott College. The junior netminder also turned aside 41 shots from Connecticut College during a mid-week clash. In three games she recorded a .942 save percentage and surrendered seven goals to high-octane opponents.

Rookie of the Week
Shannon Colbert – University of Southern Maine
(Freshman, Forward – Manomet, Mass.)

player Colbert scored the Huskies' lone goal in a 1-0 win over Post University. The tally marked the freshman forward's first collegiate goal.

Player of the Week
Edy Moritz – UMass Boston
(Junior, Forward– Guilford, Conn.)

player Moritz rattled off three points for the Beacons over the weekend. She registered an assist and a power-play goal in a 3-1 victory over Wesleyan University on the first day of the Cod Fish Bowl. The junior forward followed that with an assist on the Beacons' lone goal against #7 Endicott College in a hard fought 2-1 overtime loss.

Goaltender of the Week
Caty Flagg – University of New England
Sophomore, Goaltender – Methuen, Mass.)

player Flagg went 1-0-1 in net for the Nor'easters in two overtime games with Salem State University. On Tuesday she stopped 37 shots, allowing only one goal to preserve the 1-1 tie with the Vikings. She followed that performance by notching her first career shutout on Saturday, recording 17 saves. The sophomore posted a 0.47 GAA and 98.2 save% in both games.

Rookie of the Week
Jessie Scott – University of New England
(Freshman, Forward – Barre, Vt.)

player Scott scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's overtime victory over Salem State. UNE improved to 2-2-4 on the season with the win.

Player of the Week
Sarah Schwenzfeier – Norwich University
(Senior, Forward– Hingham, Mass.)

player Schwenzfeier had an incredible week, averaging three points a game with three goals and six assists for nine points in three games. Schwenzfeier established a new single game career high with five points in Friday's win over Southern Maine with 1 goal and four assists. Schwenzfeier finished an incredible +14 plus/minus rating on the week.

Goaltender of the Week
Emelie Lindqvist – Plymouth State University
(Junior, Goaltender – Gullerasen, Sweden)

player Lindqvist posted 80 saves and surrendered only one goal on the weekend to lead the Panthers to a 1-0-1 weekend in NEHC play. On Friday night the junior netminder accumulated a career-high 50 saves to secure a 1-1 tie with UMass Boston. She followed that performance with a 30-save shutout victory over Salve Regina.

Rookie of the Week
Jessie Scott – University of New England
(Freshman, Forward – Barre, Vt.)

player Scott notched two unassisted goals as the Nor'easters overcame a 2-0 deficit to earn the tie against Castleton University. Her first goal came at the end of the first period to cut the Spartans lead 2-1. She then got the scoring going only 41 seconds into the second period to tie the game at 2.

Players of the Week
Rachel Peacock – UMass Boston
(Sophomore, Forward– Billerica, Mass.)

player Rachel had a three-point weekend for the Beacons as they went 1-0-1 in NEHC play. She collected the game-winning goal in the 4-2 come-from-behind win at Southern Maine on Friday. She then turned around and netted the game-tying goal in Saturday's 2-2 draw at UNE. Her assist of the weekend was on the Beacons' first goal at UNE.

Sophie McGovern - Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Hermantown, Minn.)

player McGovern scored two goals and tallied an assist for three points in a 4-3 victory over four-time defending national champion Plattsburgh State on Wednesday. McGovern ended a 13-game winless streak vs. the Cardinals for the Cadets. She scored the go-ahead goal to break a 2-2 tie and then also had the primary assist on the game-winning goal. She was named the Game's No. 1 star.

Goaltender of the Week
Laurie King - Norwich University
(Senior, Goaltender – Waddington, N.Y.)

player King stopped 50 of 53 shots, including 35 in a 4-3 victory over the four-time defending national champions Plattsburgh State. She backstopped NU to its first win over Plattsburgh in 13 tries and first since 2012. King then recorded 15 saves in a 6-0 win over Plymouth State to pick up her second shutout of the season and the 16th of her career. She also added a rare goalie assist in the game against PSU

Rookie of the Week
Samantha Benoit – Norwich University
(Freshman, Defense – Bow, N.H.)

player Benoit tallied an assist in each of Norwich's two victories on the week as she finished a +2 plus-minus rating. She was on the ice for all four of Norwich's goals in a 4-3 win over four-time defending national champion Plattsburgh State.

Player of the Week
Aimee Briand – Castleton University
(Junior, Forward– Barrington, N.H.)

player Briand scored two goals in a 4-2 win at Salve Regina on Friday evening. The junior forward notched the game-winner at the 15:44 mark of the third period. Just minutes later, Briand added an insurance tally by scoring an empty-net goal from deep in Castleton's defensive zone. On Saturday, she notched two more points to total four for the weekend. Briand helped get the Spartans out to an early lead over UMass Boston by assisting on the first goal and then scoring the second. It was her team-leading fourth goal of the season and ties her for the conference lead.

Goaltender of the Week
Emelie Lindqvist – Plymouth State University
(Junior, Goaltender – Gulleräsen, Sweden)

player Lindqvist went 1-0-1 for Plymouth State this week. The junior made 19 saves to earn a shutout win over Southern Maine in the NEHC opener on Friday, then turned aside 27 shots in 64:58 to earn a 1-1 tie with UNE on Saturday.

Rookie of the Week
Jessie Scott – University of New England
(Freshman, Forward – Barre, Vt.)

player Scott notched a third-period goal to give the Nor'easters a 2-1 lead over New England College in Friday's contest. The freshman forward also assisted on the ultimate game-winner later in the period to secure the victory for UNE.



October 30, 2017
Player of the Week
Amanda Conway – Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Methuen, Mass.)

player Conway had an explosive start to the 2017-18 season, tallying three goals and two assists for five points to lead Norwich to a 1-0-1 record at the Bulldog Bowl hosted in Adrian, Mich. Conway scored twice in a 3-3 tie vs. No. 4-ranked Wis. River Falls in the season opener. She also tallied an assist to have a hand in the scoring for all three NU goals. Conway also scored a goal and had an assist in a 7-0 win over Stevenson. Conway was named to the All-Tournament team for her five-point weekend.

Co-Goaltenders of the Week
Alexis Kalm – Castleton University
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Aberdeen, N.C.)

player Kalm made 36 saves and several game-changing plays in her lone start of the week against the Oswego State Lakers, who are receiving votes in the latest national poll. The sophomore goaltender kept the Spartans in the game long enough for them to come back and force overtime against a very tough Laker squad.

Britney Evangelista – University of Southern Maine
(Sophomore, Goaltender – North Smithfield, R.I.)

player Evangelista recorded a career-high 45 saves in a 3-0 loss at nationally ranked Endicott College. The sophomore netminder kept the Huskies in the game allowing only one goal in each period. She made 34 saves over the first two periods alone.

Rookie of the Week
Ali Stevens - Castleton University
(Freshman, Forward – Jefferson, Mass.)

player Stevens began her collegiate career with a bang, scoring her first-career goal in Castleton's 7-2 win over Becker College on Friday. After she scored the game's second goal, she assisted on the eventual game-winning score just minutes later. On Saturday against Oswego State the freshman scored Castleton's first goal, converting a power play situation.
