Three From NEHC Earn CoSIDA All-District Honors

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Three New England Hockey Conference student-athletes in Tom Aubrun (Chamonix, France), Gabriel Chicoine (St. Dominique, Que.) and Emily Lambert (Riverview, Mich.) all hailing from Norwich University were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large team.

Aubrun carried a 3.77 cumulative GPA as a Business Management major off the ice. On the ice, he went on to author one of the most historic seasons in NCAA hockey history in 2019-20.

Aubrun established five new NCAA Division III men's hockey records, including an unprecedented 572:31 consecutive shutout minutes' streak (nine games), which has never been replicated at any level or gender in college hockey history.

He won the 2020 Sid Watson National Player of the Year and National Player of the Year awards, as well as finished his career as a two-time All-American. Aubrun is the all-time NCAA Division III save percentage (.946) and goals against leader (1.27), as well as the single-season shutout record holder (14).

He is a two-time NEHC Player/Goaltender of the Year, two-time NEHC Tournament Most Valuable Player and was a member of the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championship team. Aubrun is also a two-time AHCA Scholar All-American and a three-time NEHC All-Academic team honoree.

Chicoine carries a 3.96 GPA as a Mechanical Engineering major off the ice and on the ice, he was one of the best defensemen in NCAA Division III this past season.

Chicoine was named a AHCA First Team All-American after ranking fourth in the country with five goals and 26 assists for 31 points.

He helped anchor a defensive unit that posted the lowest goals against average in NCAA Division III history, surrendering just 24 goals in 28 games for a 0.86 goals against average.

Chicoine is a two-time NEHC All-Tournament Team selection and three-time NEHC All-Conference honoree earning First Team honors in 2020, as well as All-Rookie and Third Team honors in 2019.

Lambert graduated in just three years as a double major in International Business and Spanish with a 4.0 GPA. On the ice, she was named the 2019 NEHC Goaltender of the Year after backstopping the Cadets to a NEHC Tournament title.

She compiled a 26-6-1 career record with 11 shutouts to rank sixth in program history. Lambert also earned 2019 NEHC First Team and All-New England honors from the New England Hockey Writers Association. She is a three-time AHCA Scholar All-American and a two-time NEHC All-Academic selection.

Off the ice, Lambert volunteered with the women's ice hockey team at the Wheels for Warmth annual fundraising event that benefits Central Vermont families in need of heat during the winter.

These three tremendous student-athletes will be added to the pool of candidates for At-Large Academic All-American honors, which will be announced in mid-June.
