Weekly Honors



MARSHFIELD, Mass. - The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, February 9. Ethan Nitkin (Miami, Fla.) of University of Massachusetts Boston garnered Player of the Week honors. Norwich University's Tom Aubrun (Chamonix, France) earned Goaltender of the Week honors while Skidmore College's Nicolas Stuckless (Orangeville, Ont.) was named Rookie of the Year.

Player of the Week
Ethan Nitkin - UMass Boston
(Sophomore, Forward - Miami, Fla.)

player Nitkin recorded three goals and an assist and finished +5 to lead UMass Boston to a 2-0 conference weekend. The sophomore forward opened the weekend with a goal in the Beacons' victory over Johnson & Wales University. On Saturday night, he recorded a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and an assist in the Beacons' comeback win over Suffolk University.

Goaltender of the Week
Tom Aubrun - Norwich University
(Senior, Goaltender - Chamonix, France)

player In his only game of the week, Aubrun stopped all 15 shots he faced to tie the NCAA Division III record with four consecutive shutouts in a 5-0 win over Castleton. Aubrun extended his consecutive shutout minutes streak to 272:40 and added to his program records for shutouts in a season (8) and career (15). Aubrun leads the nation in wins (18), goals against average (0.95) and shutouts. He also ranks second in save percentage (.961).

Rookie of the Week
Nicolas Stuckless - Skidmore College
(Freshman, Forward - Orangeville, Ont.)

player Stuckless registered two goals and added an assist in a 1-1 week for the Thoroughbreds. He registered the game winning goal and added an insurance tally in Saturday's victory over Southern Maine. He also registered an assist against New England College.



Honor Roll

Mike Faulkner - Hobart College
(Junior, Defense - Bronx, N.Y.)

Faulkner led Hobart with four assists in a 2-0-0 week in NEHC play. On Friday in a 5-3 win over Southern Maine, Faulkner had three assists. He set up Hobart's first goal and then had an assist on two second period goals. Against New England College, Faulkner set up Zach Tyson's power-play goal in the first period. Faulkner has a team-best 17 assists.
