Weekly Honors



MARSHFIELD, Mass. - The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, January 12. Jeffrey Skinner (Houston, Texas) of University Massachusetts Boston was named Player of the Week while Babson College's Brad Arvanitis (Holliston, Mass.) earned Goaltender of the Week honors. UMass Boston's Joe Petruzzella (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Suffolk University's Griffin Clark (Charlotte, N.C.) were tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week
Jeffrey Skinner - University of Massachusetts Boston
(Sophomore, Forward - Houston, Texas)

player Skinner scored a team-best three goals in a 1-1 conference week for UMass Boston. On Friday night, the sophomore scored a team-high two goals in the Beacons' 5-1 road win over Skidmore College. He tacked on a power-play goal on Saturday against #6 Hobart College. Skinner has recorded six goals and six assists during his seven-game point streak.

Goaltender of the Week
Brad Arvanitis - Babson College
(Junior, Goaltender - Holliston, Mass.)

player Arvanitis made a career-high 47 saves and recorded his third shutout of the season in Babson's 0-0 OT tie at No. 6 Hobart on Friday night. The junior netminder stopped 35 shots over the first two periods and is now unbeaten over his last four starts.

Rookies of the Week
Joe Petruzzella - University of Massachusetts Boston
(Freshman, Defense - Scottsdale, Ariz.)

player Petruzzella recorded his first collegiate goal and recorded three points overall in a 1-1 week for the Beacons. On Friday night, he recorded an assist on the game-winning goal against Skidmore College. He tacked on his first career goal and notched his first career two-point game on Saturday against #6 Hobart College.

Henry Bishop - Suffolk University
(Freshman, Defense - Montreal, Que.)

player Bishop recorded four assists in a 1-1 week for the Rams. He assisted on Suffolk's lone goal against nationally ranked Norwich on Friday night. He then followed with a career-high three assists as the Rams earned their first NEHC victory by defeating Castleton 8-4 on Saturday.



Honor Roll

Joe Halstrom - Hobart College
(Sophomore, Goaltender - Fort Collins, Colo.)

Halstrom stopped all 30 shots he faced in a 0-0 tie with Babson Friday evening. It was his second shutout of the season. Halstrom held Babson's top-ranked power play unit without a goal. He is 9-3-2 this season with a 2.05 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

Ryan Black - Babson College
(Sophomore, Forward - Pomfret, Conn.)

Black scored once and added two assists to match his career high with three points in Saturday's 4-1 win at Skidmore, He scored the opening goal of the game in the third period and then assisted on the team's next two tallies as the Beavers extended their unbeaten streak to 10 games.
