NEHC CHAMPIONSHIP - Saturday, March 2

MARSHFIELD, Mass. - Norwich University and Hobart College each advanced through the semifinal rounds to earn a spot in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Championship game in a rematch of last year's title tilt.
Norwich will host Hobart on Saturday, March 2 with the winner earning the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Norwich is looking for their 13th tournament title while Hobart is aiming for back-to-back NEHC crowns.
The number two-seeded Cadets defeated Babson College 5-3 in a back-and-forth battle. Brett Ourderkirk (Monkland, Ont.) recorded two points on a goal and an assist and Gabriel Chicoine (St. Dominique, Que.) recorded the game-winner six minutes into the third period for Norwich.
The Statesmen traveled to top-seeded University of Massachusetts Boston and toppled the Beacons, 4-0. Dan Sliney (Warwick, R.I.) notched two goals for Hobart while freshman goaltender Liam Lascelle (Cornwall, Ont.) recorded 27 saves to shutout UMass Boston.
Norwich will put their 16-game unbeaten streak on the line as the two programs square off for the third time this season. While Hobart won last year's NEHC Championship, they are yet to defeat Norwich this season which Norwich prevailing by scores of 3-1 and 4-2 this season.
