Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. - The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, January 6. Daniel Bergqvist (Hammaro, Sweden) of New England College was recognized as Player of the Week. The Hobart College duo of Alexander Connal (Simsbury, Conn.) and Aaron Maguyon (Margate City, N.J.) were named Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
Daniel Bergqvist - New England College
(Junior, Forward - Hammaro, Sweden)

player Bergqvist recorded four points on three goals and an assist as New England College won the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational Tournament. The junior forward notched the eventual game-winner against Nichols College and also added an assist on an insurance goal later in the game. He followed that performance with two goals in Saturday's championship bout vs. Lebanon Valley College. Bergqvist finished the weekend with a +5 rating.

Goaltender of the Week
Alexander Connal - Hobart College
(Junior, Goaltender - Simsbury, Conn)

player Connal opened the second half of the season with three straight wins, posting a 0.67 goals against average and a .974 save percentage. He has not allowed a goal in 147 minutes, recording shutouts over Middlebury and Potsdam. Connal had 32 saves in the victory over UNE, stopped 15 shots against Middlebury, and made 27 saves against Potsdam.

Rookie of the Week
Aaron Maguyon - Hobart College
(Freshman, Forward - Margate City, N.J.)

player Maguyon had four points (3g, 1a) in four Hobart wins to start the second half of the season. At the Middlebury Holiday Classic, he scored the game-winning goal in Hobart's 4-2 win over the University of New England. In Friday's 3-0 victory over Potsdam, Maguyon had a pair of goals, including the game winner. The next afternoon, he set up PA Martineau's game-winning goal.



Honor Roll

Tommy Munichiello - Babson College
(Senior, Forward - Weymouth, Mass.)
Munichiello had two goals and two assists for four points in three wins since returning from the holiday break. The senior forward scored the tying goal and assisted on both of Babson's final two tallies in a 4-3 win at MSOE on December 29. Munichiello also netted the game-tying goal early in the third period as the Beavers rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Curry, 4-2, on Saturday.
