Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, December 2. UMass Boston's Garrison Sanipass (Northbrook, Ill.) and Ethan Nitkin (Miami Beach, Fla.) were honored as Player and Rookie of the Week respectively. Castleton University's Wyatt Pickrell (Newmarket, Ont.) earned Goaltender of the Week honors.

Player of the Week
Garrison Sanipass – UMass Boston
(Senior, Forward – Northbrook, Ill.)

player Sanipass recorded two goals and two assists to help UMass Boston improve to 8-0 in NEHC play. The senior recorded a pair of goals on Friday night, including the game-winning goal in a win over #12/12 Hobart College. He also added two assists in Saturday's win over Skidmore College.

Goaltender of the Week
Wyatt Pickrell - Castleton University
(Senior, Goaltender – Newmarket, Ont.)

player Pickrell played a key role in Castleton's 1-0-1 week, posting a .942 save percentage in NEHC play. He made 44 saves in Friday's 6-2 win against Suffolk, including successfully killing two lengthy 5-on-3 opportunities. He followed that by making 37 saves on Saturday against JWU as the team fell 3-2 in overtime.

Rookie of the Week
Ethan Nitkin – UMass Boston
(Freshman, Forward – Miami Beach, Fla.)

player Nitkin recorded a team-high four goals over the weekend to lead #9/9 UMass Boston to a weekend sweep of Hobart and Skidmore College. The freshman recorded a goal on Friday night against #12/12 Hobart College, before netting his first career hat trick in Saturday's win over Skidmore. The freshman finished +5 in the win and scored three goals on four shots.



Honor Roll

Tim Allen – Skidmore College
(Junior, Forward– Smithfield, R.I.)

Allen had three goals and an assist in a pair of league games. He scored two goals and had an assist in 6-3 loss to UMASS Boston and netted a goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to Babson.

Eric Wright – Suffolk University
(Freshman, Forward– Poway, Calif.)

Wright picked the perfect time to notch his first collegiate goal, as the Rams shocked nationally-ranked Norwich University 1-0 on Saturday. Wright's game-winning goal came just over 3 minutes into the third period.
