Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, February 11. Jonas Toupal (Vcelna, Czech Republic) of Hobart College and Nolan Redler (Winchester, Mass.) of University of Massachusetts Boston were recognized as Players of the Week for their respective performances in the last week of the regular season. Redler's Beacons teammate, Bailey MacBurnie (Beverley, Mass.) earned Goaltender of the Week accolades while Skidmore College's Brian Kowalski (Amherst, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Players of the Week
Jonas Toupal - Hobart College
(Junior, Forward – Vcelna, Czech Republic)

player Toupal led the Statesmen with five points in a 2-0-0 weekend for Hobart. He notched two assists in a 5-4 win over No. 12/11 Norwich on Friday night. On Saturday, Toupal logged a goal and two assists in a 4-2 victory over Castleton. He leads Hobart with 28 points on 14 goals and 14 assists.

Nolan Redler – UMass Boston
(Sophomore, Forward – Winchester, Mass.)

player Redler found his scoring touch at the right time, as he broke out for a team-high four goals and five total points in a pair of NEHC wins. After scoring just one goal in his previous six games, Redler scored two goals in both conference wins and recorded the game-winning tally in both contests. Redler is tied with teammate Colin Larkin for the Division III lead in goals (22) and ranks in the top 10 in Division III in power-play goals (8) and game-winning goals (4).

Goaltender of the Week
Bailey MacBurnie – UMass Boston
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Beverly, Mass.)

player MacBurnie backstopped the Beacons to a pair of victories, including setting a new career-high in saves on Friday night. The sophomore netminder went 2-0 with a .939 save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average in two conference wins. On Friday night, MacBurnie made a career-high 40 saves on 42 shots against New England College to help UMass Boston snap their two-game losing streak. He added 22 saves on Saturday to become only the third player in program history to win 15 or more games in a single-season.

Rookie of the Week
Brian Kowalski – Skidmore College
(Freshman, Goaltender – Amherst, N.Y.)

player In his third start of the season Kowalski notched 45 saves in a 2-2 road tie against #11 Norwich. The freshman netminder stopped 33 shots over the first two periods alone, including 18 in the second. Both goals he surrendered were power-play tallies.



Honor Roll

Zack Bross – UMass Boston
(Freshman, Forward– St. Louis, Mo.)

Bross finished with two goals and two assists and a +6 (+/- rating) to help the Beacons earn a pair of conference wins to close out the year. He did the brunt of his damage on Friday night, as he recorded two goals and an assist in a 4-2 win over New England College. He tacked on an assist in Saturday's 7-2 win over Southern Maine. Bross leads all Division III freshmen with his 38 points and he ranks second amongst all skaters with his 30 assists.
