Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Monday, January 8. Babson College's Nick Rosa (Birmingham, Mich.) earned Player of the Week accolades. Kyle Shapiro (Ocean, N.J.) of New England College and Anthony D'Aloisio of University of Southern Maine (Frisco, Texas) were recognized as Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
Nick Rosa – Babson College
(Freshman, Forward – Birmingham, Mich.)

player Rosa scored the game-tying goal late in the third period and then notched the only score of the shootout as Babson advanced to the W.B. Mason Winter Classic championship game after a 1-1 OT tie with #2 nationally ranked Endicott on Friday. For his efforts, he was named to the all-tournament team.

Goaltender of the Week
Kyle Shapiro – New England College
(Senior, Goaltender – Ocean, N.J.)

player Shapiro stopped 58 of the 60 shots he faced on the week, allowing just 1.0 goals per game in a 1-1 week for the Pilgrims. Shapiro had 36 saves in a 4-1 win over Amherst and had 22 in a 1-0 loss to Southern Maine. On the week, Shapiro had a .967 save percentage.

Rookie of the Week
Anthony D'Aloisio – University of Southern Maine
(Freshman, Goaltender – Frisco, Texas)

player In the Huskies' first game back since the exam and holiday break, D'Aloisio stopped 33 shots to shut out New England College 1-0 for his first collegiate shutout. The victory snapped the Huskies' seven-game winless streak (0-5-2).



Honor Roll

Matt Pompa - Babson College
(Junior, Goaltender– Palm City, Fla.)

Pompa posted a 1.99 goals against average and a .949 save percentage in two games at Plattsburgh's W.B. Mason Winter Classic over the weekend. The junior netminder stopped a career-high 46 shots in Friday's 1-1 OT tie against #2 nationally ranked Endicott, and followed it up with 28 saves in Saturday's loss to the host Cardinals.

Brandon Kasel - Skidmore College
(Sophomore, Goaltender– Ithaca, N.Y.)

Kasel earned All-Tournament honors at the Oswego PathFinder Classic after leading the Thoroughbreds to a 2-1 win over nationally tanked Hobart in the consolation game. He had 39 saves, including 16 in the second period. Also stopped 22 of 25 shots in a loss to Oswego in the opening round. Finished the weekend with a .939 save% and 2.02 GAA.

T.J. Dockery – Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward– Lockport, N.Y.)

Dockery notched a goal and added an assist in the Cadets' victory over Northland on Friday at the Northfield Savings Bank Tournament. The sophomore assisted on the eventual game-winning tally and added a goal of his in the third period. He was also named to the All-Tournament team for his performance over the weekend.
