Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Monday, January 1. Tyler Sifferlen (North Andover, Mass.) and Jack Riley (Wrentham, Mass.) of UMass Boston earned Player and Rookie of the Week honors respectively. Babson College's Matt Pompa (Palm City, Fla.) was recognized as Goaltender of the Week.

Player of the Week
Tyler Sifferlen – UMass Boston
(Sophomore, Forward – North Andover, Mass.)

player Sifferlen tied for the team-high with four points during the 53rd Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament. On Friday, he recorded two goals and an assist to lead UMass Boston past Williams College 9-3. He tacked on the primary assist on Saturday on the Beacons' game-tying goal of the Championship Game against Salve Regina.

Goaltender of the Week
Matt Pompa – Babson College
(Junior, Goaltender – Palm City, Fla.)

player Pompa turned away 33 of 34 shots for a .971 save percentage to earn his sixth win of the year in Babson's 4-1 victory over Lake Forest on Saturday. The junior netminder came up with 16 saves in the third period to help the Beavers stay unbeaten at home.

Rookie of the Week
Jack Riley – UMass Boston
(Freshman, Forward – Wrentham, Mass.)

player Riley burst out with three goals and a plus 4 rating during the 53rd Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament. The freshman forward recorded a pair of goals in the Beacons' 9-3 win over Williams College to open the tournament. He tacked on a game-tying goal in the third against Salve Regina in the finals.



Honor Roll

Zach Phelps - Babson College
(Senior, Forward– Manorville, Pa.)

Phelps produced the first two-goal game of his career in Babson's 4-1 win over Lake Forest on Saturday. The senior forward scored the game's opening goal and then notched a shorthanded empty-net tally off the face-off late in the third period for the Beavers.

Alexander Connal – Hobart College
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Simsbury, Conn.)

Connal played all 60 minutes in goal in a 5-1 win over Connecticut College on Saturday night. He made 26 saves in the victory, improving to 5-1-1 this season. Connal is sporting a 1.70 goals against average and a .935 save percentage this year. He ranks second in the NEHC in both categories.

Travis Schneider – Hobart College
(Freshman, Forward – Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.)

Schneider shared a team-high with a season-high two points in a 5-1 win over Connecticut College. He chipped in a goal and an assist. Schneider set up what proved to be the game-winning goal in the second period and notched his third goal of the season early in the third period.
