Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, November 5. Hobart College's Jordan Haskell (Tooele, Utah) earned Player of the Week accolades. Norwich University teammates Braeden Ostepchuk (Lethbridge, Alta.) and Coby Downs (Montclair, Calif.) were recognized as Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
Jordan Haskell – Hobart College
(Senior, Forward – Tooele, Utah)

player Haskell led Hobart with two goals and two assists in a 2-0-0 NEHC weekend. He chipped in two goals in an 8-1 win over Southern Maine. Haskell added two assists in a 5-2 win over New England College on Saturday.

Goaltender of the Week
Braeden Ostepchuk – Norwich University
(Senior, Goaltender – Lethbridge, Alta.)

player Ostepchuk backstopped Norwich to a pair of NEHC victories over UMass Boston and Babson this past weekend. He stopped 49 of 51 shots on the weekend, including all 27 he faced vs. UMass Boston to shutout the high-octane Beacons that had scored 15 goals over their last two games. The shutout was the 10th of his collegiate career. Ostepchuk followed up with 22 more saves vs. Babson to pick up his second win of the weekend.

Rookie of the Week
Coby Downs – Norwich University
(Freshman, Forward – Montclair, Calif.)

player Downs had a three-point weekend to lead the Cadets to a big four-point weekend sweep of Babson and UMass Boston. Downs scored twice in a 5-0 shutout over UMass Boston on Friday, he then followed up with an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over Babson.



Honor Roll

Matt McMorrow – Babson College
(Senior, Forward– Pearl River, N.Y.)

McMorrow finished with one goal and three assists for four points as Babson split weekend road games at Castleton and Norwich. The senior forward scored once and recorded two assists to match his career high with three points in Friday's 6-1 victory over the Spartans. On Saturday, he picked up a first-period assist in a 4-2 loss to the Cadets.

Bryce Nielsen – New England College
(Senior, Forward – Laguna Hills, Calif.)

Nielsen had two goals and two assists in a 1-1 week for NEC. In Friday's 5-2 win over Skidmore, Nielsen tallied a team-best two goals and an assist. He also dished out an assist in NEC's bout with No. 9 Hobart on Saturday.

Bailey MacBurnie – UMass Boston
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Beverly, Mass.)

MacBurnie posted his first collegiate shutout to lead UMass Boston to their first NEHC win of the year. The sophomore netminder stopped all 17 shots he faced in the Beacons' 5-0 win over Castleton University. On the year, MacBurnie is 2-0 with a 0.50 goals against average and .971 save percentage.
