Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, November 19. Rob Devaney (Reading, Mass.) of Babson College was recognized as Player of the Week. The duo of Bailey MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass.) and Zach Bross (St. Louis, Mo.) of University of Massachusetts Boston were honored as Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
Rob Devaney – Babson College
(Senior, Forward – Reading, Mass.)

player Devaney produced three goals and two assists for five points and had a +3 rating as Babson extended its unbeaten streak to four with a win and a tie over the weekend. The senior forward had two goals and one assist in Friday's 4-1 victory over Skidmore and then scored once and added another assist as the Beavers rallied for a 3-3 tie with No. 8/6 Hobart on Saturday.

Goaltender of the Week
Bailey MacBurnie – UMass Boston
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Beverly, Mass.)

player MacBurnie was phenomenal in leading #15 UMass Boston to a 2-0 weekend and sole possession of first place in the New England Hockey Conference. The sophomore netminder went 2-0 with a 1.50 goals against average and a .947 save percentage in two conference wins. On Friday night, MacBurnie held #6/8 Hobart, the second-leading offense in the NEHC, to one goal on 35 shots. He followed that up with 20 saves on 22 shots against Skidmore College to improve to 6-0-0 on the year. the season with 24 saves vs. Skidmore on Friday.

Rookie of the Week
Zack Bross – UMass Boston
(Freshman, Forward – St. Louis, Mo.)

player Bross continued his torrid start to the season by recording a goal and two assists during the Beacons' 2-0-conference weekend. The freshman recorded an assist on the game-winning goal against #6/8 Hobart College, before tacking on a goal and an assist on Saturday against Skidmore. Through eight games, he leads the entire conference in points (14) and assists (11) and has recorded a point in seven of his first eight collegiate games.



Honor Roll

Carlos Fornaris – New England College
(Sophomore, Forward– Miami, Fla.)

Fornaris led the Pilgrims to a 2-0 NEHC weekend with a team-best, two goals and three assists. His first goal of the week put NEC up 2-0 over Norwich in the third minute of the game, while his second goal sealed a 6-3 win over Castleton.

Matt Pompa - Babson College
(Junior, Goaltender – Palm City, Fla.)

Pompa went 1-0-1 with a 1.92 goals against average and stopped 66-of-70 shots for a .943 save percentage over the weekend. He stopped a season-high 36 shots in Friday's 4-1 win over Skidmore and then made 30 save in Saturday's 3-3 tie with No. 8/6 Hobart.

Kyle Shapiro – New England College
(Senior, Goaltender – Ocean Township, N.J.)

Shapiro had a stellar week for NEC, opening the weekend with a 39-save performance to lead the Pilgrims to a 4-3 win over nationally ranked Norwich University. Highlighting his performance was a diving save with 12 minutes to go to keep the game tied at 2-2. The next day, he added 26 saves in NEC's 6-3 win over Castleton to total 65 saves with a .915 save percentage a 3.00 goals-against average on the weekend.
