Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, February 5. Babson College teammates Dan Casey (Chatham, N.J.) and Bryan Botcher (Mequon, Wis.) earned Player and Goaltender of the Week accolades respectively. William Riise (Charlottenlund, Denmark) of New England College was recognized as Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week
Dan Casey – Babson College
(Senior, Forward – Chatham, N.J.)

player Casey scored two goals and added one assist for a three-point weekend. The senior forward scored a pair of goals in Friday's 2-2 overtime tie with No. 1/1 Norwich, and then recorded an assist in Saturday's 4-0 victory over Saint Michael's.

Goaltender of the Week
Bryan Botcher – Babson College
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Mequon, Wis.)

player Botcher continued his stellar play with a career-high 45 saves in a 2-2 overtime tie against No. 1/1 Norwich on Friday night. The junior netminder posted a 1.85 goals against average and a .957 save percentage, and is now unbeaten in four consecutive starts.

Rookie of the Week
William Riise – New England College
(Freshman, Forward – Charlottenlund, Denmark.)

player Riise scored his first career hat trick in the third period in NEC's 9-1 win against Daniel Webster on Friday. He finished the weekend with five points as he also added two assists, one against Daniel Webster and one against Southern Maine, to aid the Pilgrims to a 2-0 week.



Honor Roll

Quincy Gregg – Skidmore College
(Freshman, Defense– Stamford, Conn.)

Gregg assisted on all three Thoroughbred goals in Saturday's tie against NEHC rival Castleton University.

Peter Sikalis – Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Defense – Acton, Mass.)

Sikalis scored three goals from the blue line as Saint Anselm went 2-1-0 on the week. The senior scored a pair of third-period goals in a 4-3 overtime loss to Southern Maine on Friday and added another goal in a 5-0 victory over Daniel Webster on Saturday.

William Pelletier – Norwich University
(Senior, Forward – St Jean Chrysostome, Que.)

Pelletier scored two goals and tallied an assist for a three-point night in a 4-1 win over UMass Boston on Saturday. He scored NU's first and last goal and also tallied an assist on the eventual game-winning goal. He led NU to its first win at UMass Boston in four years and just the second win in the last six years.
