Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, February 12. Castleton University teammates Ryan O'Toole (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) and Troy Taylor (Mississauga, Ont.) earned Player and Rookie of the Week accolades respectively. Brett Kilar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) of New England was named Goaltender of the Week.

Player of the Week
Ryan O'Toole – Castleton University
(Junior, Forward – Ogdensburg, N.Y.)

player O'Toole racked up five points on three goals and two assists as he helped Castleton lock up the No. 4 seed and a home game in the NEHC postseason. The junior opened the week with a two-goal performance in a 3-1 win on the road at Southern Maine. On Saturday, O'Toole chipped in with a goal and two assists. The five-point week helped him achieve a new single-season high in points for his career, and made him one of nine Spartans with double-digit points on the season.

Goaltender of the Week
Brett Kilar – New England College
(Senior, Goaltender – Coto de Caza, Calif.)

player Kilar posted a .959 save percentage and a 1.50 goals-against average in a 2-0 week for the Pilgrims. He picked up his seventh career shutout on Friday against UMass Boston with a 42-save performance before tallying 29 saves in the team's 4-3 win over Babson in the battle for second place.

Rookie of the Week
Troy Taylor – Castleton University
(Freshman, Defense – Mississauga, Ont.)

player Taylor had a solid week for Castleton, providing five points on a goal and four assists for the Spartan offense. In Friday's 3-1 win at Southern Maine, Taylor registered an assist on the game's first goal, before coming back with a career-best four-point game on Saturday at Daniel Webster. Taylor had two points in each of the final two periods of that contest, racking up two assists in the second period, and a goal and an assist in the third period of a 10-1 road win.



Honor Roll

William Pelletier – Norwich University
(Senior, Forward– St. Jean Chrysostome, Que.)

Pelletier scored a goal and tallied three assists for a four-point night. Pelletier's four points all came in NU's lone game of the week in a 6-0 win over Saint Michael's. He now has 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points in just 17 games played on the season.

Anthony Bird - Skidmore College
(Senior, Forward – Central Square, N.Y.)

Bird had one goal and three assists in a 2-0 weekend road sweep for the Thoroughbreds. The senior forward set-up two goals in a 3-0 win over Daniel Webster and had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win at Southern Maine.
