Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, January 1. William Pelletier (St. Jean Chrysostome, Que.) of Norwich University earned Player of the Week honors. Saint Anselm College's Colin Soucy (North Andover, Mass.) and Ryan Cusin (Detroit, Mich.) of University of Massachusetts Boston were recognized as Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
William Pelletier – Norwich University
(Senior, Forward – St. Jean Chrysostome, Que.)

player Pelletier led Norwich to its 3rd Northfield Savings Bank Holiday Tournament title in the last 4 seasons, by earning his fourth straight NSB Tournament MVP. He scored two goals and notched three assists for five points in wins over Nazareth (3-1) and Williams (4-3). He had the primary assist on the game-winning goal vs. Nazareth and he scored the game-winning goal vs. Williams. He had a hand in every NU goal but two on the weekend.

Goaltender of the Week
Colin Soucy – Saint Anselm College
(Sophomore, Goaltender – North Andover, Mass.)

player In just his second start of the season, Soucy stopped 26-of-27 shots as Saint Anselm downed Manhattanville 2-1 to win the Middlebury Holiday Classic on Saturday. The 26 saves were a career-high for the sophomore and nine came in the final period as the Hawks rallied for the win.

Rookie of the Week
Ryan Cusin – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Freshman, Forward– Detroit, Mich.)

player Cusin paced the Beacons with a team-high two goals and four assists during the Codfish Bowl Tournament. He paced the team with two goals and three points in a win over Connecticut College, before tacking on an assist against Salve Regina University. Cusin leads the entire NEHC with his 20 total points and 1.54 points per game.



Honor Roll

Peter Sikalis – Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Defense– Acton, Mass.)

Sikalis was named the MVP of the Middlebury Holiday Classic after registering an assist in both games as Saint Anselm took home the tournament title. On Friday, the senior assisted on the game-tying goal with 2:25 left in regulation in a 3-3 tie against Middlebury in the opener in a game the Hawks won in a shootout to advance to the title game. In the championship game against Manhattanville the next day, he set up the game-winning goal midway through the third period in a 2-1 win.

Braeden Ostepchuk – Norwich University
(Junior, Goaltender – Lethbridge, Alta.)

Ostepchuk was named to the Northfield Savings Bank Holiday All-Tournament team after making 21 of 22 saves in a 3-1 win over Nazareth on Friday to help the Cadets to the title game. NU has won eight in a row now and Ostepchuk has been in net for six of the eight victories.

Ian Williams – Norwich University
(Freshman, Forward – Milestone, Saskatchawan)

Williams scored a goal in a 4-3 victory over Williams College on Saturday to help Norwich clinch its third Northfield Savings Bank Holiday Tournament title in the last four seasons.

Mike Ferraro – Saint Anselm College
(Freshman, Forward – Northbridge, Mass.)

Ferraro scored the game-winning goal at 10:06 of the third period to help Saint Anselm win the Middlebury Holiday Classic with a 2-1 victory over Manhattanville on Saturday. The goal was the freshman's fourth of the season and his first collegiate game-winner.
