Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, December 11. Connor Fries (Barnstable, Mass.) of New England College earned Player of the Week honors. The duo of Jordan Bustard (Flanders, N.J.) and Ryan Cusin (Detroit, Mich.) of University of Massachusetts Boston were recognized as Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
Connor Fries – New England College
(Sophomore, Forward – Barnstable, Mass.)

player Fries scored twice in NEC's 4-3 win over Saint Anselm in their lone outing of the week. He netted the first goal of the game 8:19 into the first period and then scored the only power play goal of the game to put the Pilgrims up 2-1 in the first. He now leads the team in goals this season with seven.

Goaltender of the Week
Jordan Bustard – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Freshman, Goaltender – Flanders, N.J)

player Bustard backstopped #13/14 UMass Boston to a 4-1 win on Friday night at Wentworth Institute of Technology. The freshman stopped 27 of 28 shots to earn his sixth win of the season.

Rookie of the Week
Ryan Cusin – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Freshman, Forward– Detroit, Mich.)

player Cusin scored a career-high two goals to help #13/14 UMass Boston snap a three-game winless streak. The freshman scored the Beacons' first and third goals in a 4-1 non-conference win over Wentworth on Friday. With the two goals, Cusin extended his point-streak to five in a row.



Honor Roll

Jimmy Burns - Castleton University
(Junior, Defense– Middletown, N.J.)

Burns had a breakout game in the Spartans' return to action against Plymouth St. on Saturday night, notching an assist on each of Castleton's goals in a 3-3 draw on the road. Burns' first assist knotted the game at 1-1 in the second period, before his second helper put the Spartans up 2-1. After Plymouth St. tied the game in the third period, Burns again put his team on top after working a nice give-and-go with Trevor Hanna to make it 3-2 in favor of the Spartans for the time being.

Josh Dickman – Saint Michael's College
(Senior, Forward – Kapaa, Hawaii)

Dickman recorded a goal and an assist while going plus-2 in a 1-1 week. In a 2-1 victory over Franklin Pierce on Tuesday, he netted the game-winner at 11:51 of the second period, snapping a tie and going plus-1. During a 4-1 loss to No. 5 Norwich on Friday, Dickman assisted the lone tally at 15:39 of the third period while also going plus-1 in the game.
