MARSHFIELD, Mass. Will Laking (Orillia, Ont.) of Castleton University and Matt Brazel of Babson (Hingham, Mass.) were named to the Team of the Week for their play from January 25 through January 31. The duo each led their respective program to four-point weekends in league play. Laking was recognized as the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week on Monday while Brazel earned Co-Rookie of the Week honors.

Laking delivered a five-point week to lead the Spartans to conference victories over #14 Norwich and Saint Michael's. In Friday's win over the Cadets Laking assisted on the game-tying and game-winning goals. He followed that performance with an assist and two goals (including a shorthanded tally and the eventual game-winner) against Saint Michael's.

Brazel produced two goals and three assists for five points as Babson extended its winning streak to four games with victories over the University of New England and Southern Maine. The first-year forward assisted on the Beavers' first two goals and then scored early in the second period for the first three-point game of his career in Friday's 4-3 win over the Nor'easters. On Saturday, he recorded a first-period assist and scored in the second period as part of a 5-0 victory over the Huskies.

The Team of the Week recognizes the top performances across the nation in Division III men's hockey. Institutional and conference sports information directors submit nominations for recognition. A selection committee then reviews the nominations and selects an elite group of three forwards, two defenders and one goaltender for recognition.
