Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, February 14. Castleton University's Bart Moran (Calgary, Alta.) was selected as Player of the Week. The duo of Brett Kilar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) and Connor Fries (Barnstable, Mass.) from New England College were recognized as Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Player of the Week
Bart Moran - Castleton University
(Junior, Forward – Calgary, Alta.)

player Moran played a role in five goals this weekend to help Castleton go 1-0-1 to close out the regular season. The junior forward opened the weekend slate with a three-point performance as the Spartans beat Southern Maine, 8-1. Moran scored the eventual game-winner with a power play goal early in the first before providing the service for two other scores. He was at it again on Saturday with one goal and one assist in the Spartans' tie against UNE.

Goaltender of the Week
Brett Kilar – New England College
(Junior, Goaltender – Coto de Caza, Calif.)

player Kilar totaled 94 saves over two conference ties with the top teams in the NEHC. On Friday Kilar notched an impressive 55 saves, including five in overtime, as the Pilgrims tied UMass-Boston 3-3. Kilar returned on Saturday with a 39 save performance in a 2-2 tie with second place Babson.

Rookie of the Week
Connor Fries – New England College
(Freshman, Forward– Barnstable, Mass.)

player Fries totaled two goals and two assist over the Pilgrims' two games this weekend. In NEC's tie with UMass-Boston on Friday Fries had a stick in each of the Pilgrim goals scoring the game-tying goal late in the third and dishing out two assists. In Saturday's tie with Babson Fries scored the first Pilgrim goal of the contest.



Honor Roll

Matt Lemire – University of Massachusetts Boston
(Senior, Forward – Townsend, Mass.)
Lemire led UMass Boston to the program's first regular-season title since 1982, by posting a team-high three points. The senior forward scored a pair of goals and added an assist to finish off the regular-season tied for second in the nation with 42 points. On Friday, he reached the 40-point mark with his first period goal, before adding a goal and an assist in Saturday's Senior Day win over Saint Anselm.

Brady Fleurent – University of New England
(Freshman, Forward – Biddeford, Maine.)
Had a hand in 4 of 5 goals at Castleton, including two of the 3rd-period scores that brought UNE back from a 5-2 deficit. He started UNE back with 6:45 gone in the final frame, and after the Nor'easters survived a 5-on-3 and pocketed a shorthanded marker moments later, Fleurent found defenseman Dustin Walsh for the equalizer with a little more than seven minutes to go.

Jamie Murray - Babson College
(Senior, Goaltender– Scituate, Mass.)
Murray returned to the lineup and posted a 1.50 goals against average and a .932 save percentage as the Beavers wrapped up the regular season with a win and a tie. The senior netminder made 18 saves in a 3-1 victory over Saint Anselm on Friday and then stopped 23 shots in Saturday's 2-2 OT tie against New England College.

Fabio Kläy – Castleton University
(Freshman, Forward– Lagnau, Switzerland)
Kläy notched four goals on the weekend for the Spartans including a hat trick against Southern Maine on Friday. The freshman forward also added a goal in Castleton's tie against UNE.
