Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, January 24. Bryan Sullivan (Burlington, Mass.) and Bryan Green (Weymouth, Mass.) of Saint Anselm College were named Player and Rookie of the Week respectively. Skidmore College's Jack McDonald (King City, Ont.) was named the league's Goaltender of the Week.

Player of the Week
Bryan Sullivan Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Forward Burlington, Mass.)

player Sullivan scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-1 win at Franklin Pierce on Tuesday night. He followed that up by scoring the game-winning goal in a 4-3 overtime win over Saint Michael's on Friday night, while adding an assist in a 2-2 draw with #11/13 Norwich on Saturday. The Hawks went 2-0-1 on the week and currently sit fifth in the NEHC 14 points.

Goaltender of the Week
Jack McDonald Skidmore College
(Junior, Goaltender King City, Ont.)

player McDonald turned in one of the top goaltending performances of the season when he stopped 57 shots in a 3-3 overtime tie at NEHC league-leader UMass-Boston, including six saves in overtime. On Saturday the junior netminder stopped 37 of 39 shots in a 3-0 loss to Babson. He stopped the first 27 shots he faced, keeping the Beavers off the board for two periods.

Rookie of the Week
Bryan Green Saint Anselm College
(Freshman, Forward Weymouth, Mass.)

player Green recorded a hat-trick as part of a 5-1 nonconference win over Franklin Pierce. On Friday, Green notched two goals, including the game-tying goal in the closing minutes against Saint Michael's. On Saturday, Green scored his sixth goal of the week in the final minute of the third period to send the game to overtime and eventually grab a 2-2 draw with #11/13 Norwich.



Honor Roll

Blaise Healy University of New England
(Junior, Forward Melrose, Mass.)

Healy tallied two goals and three assists over three games for the Nor'easters. In Friday's contest against inner-state opponent, Southern Maine, Healy recorded four points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the UNE offense exploded in a 9-2 league victory.

Derek Colucci University of Massachusetts Boston
(Senior, Forward North Scituate, R.I.)
Colucci recorded a team-high four points to lead UMass-Boston to a three-point conference weekend. The senior assistant captain picked up an assist on all three Beacons' goals in Friday's tie against Skidmore. On Saturday, he added an assist in the 5-1 win over Castleton.

Matt Pompa Babson College
(Freshman, Goaltender Palm City, Fla.)
Making just his second start of the year, Pompa finished with a career-high 32 saves in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Skidmore. The first-year netminder stopped 15 third-period shots and has now recorded consecutive shutouts in each of his first two collegiate starts.
