MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Tyler Fleurent (Ramsey, N.J.) of the University of New England was named to the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week for his play from January 11 through January 17. Fleurent led the Nor'easters to an impressive 2-0-0 weekend, which included the first victory in program history against nationally-ranked Norwich University. The junior forward was also named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Week on Monday.
Fleurent assisted on both second period goals to help UNE rally from its second two-goal deficit of the game at Norwich on Friday. The junior forward then scored the game-winner with 44 seconds left in overtime to give the Nor'easters their first-ever victory against the nationally-ranked Cadets in 15 meetings.
The D3Hockey.com Team of the Week recognizes the top performances across the nation in Division III men's hockey. Institutional and conference sports information directors submit nominations for recognition. A selection committee then reviews the nominations and selects an elite group of three forwards, two defenders and one goaltender for recognition.
