Men's Weekly Release

MARSHFIELD, Mass. The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through Sunday, December 13. Mike Miller (Wrentham, Mass.) of University Massachusetts Boston was named the league's Player of the Week. New England College teammates Brett Kilar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) and Andreas Zollner (Varnamo, Sweden) were named Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.

This concludes the 2015 schedule for NEHC institutions. Skidmore College welcomes 2016 as the first team in action taking on Hamilton College on New Year's Day. Seven NEHC programs will hit the ice on the weekend of January 2nd in nonconference contests with conference play resuming the weekend of January 8th.

Player of the Week
Mike Miller University of Massachusetts Boston
(Senior, Forward Wrentham, Mass.)

player Miller recorded his first collegiate hat trick and a career-high five points to lead #6 UMass Boston men's hockey past Wentworth Institute of Technology 10-1. The senior scored twice in the first period and added a goal and two assists in the third period. He more than doubled his point total on the season with his five points.

Goaltender of the Week
Brett Kilar New England College
(Junior, Goaltender Coto de Caza, Calif.)

player Kilar picked up two wins in net this week for New England College. In Tuesday's shutout win over Daniel Webster College Kilar recorded 17 saves in 46 minutes of work. Kilar was even more impressive in the Pilgrims' 3-2 victory over St. Anselm College on Thursday stopping 37 Hawk shots.

Rookie of the Week
Andreas Zollner New England College
(Freshman, Forward Varnamo, Sweden.)

player Zollner totaled five points in two wins for the Pilgrims last week. In NEC's 10-0 win over Daniel Webster Zollner dished out an impressive four assists. The freshman forward came up huge for the Pilgrims in the team's 3-2 win over St. Anselm on Thursday evening recording the second goal of the contest.

Honor Roll

Ty Piacentini Norwich University
(Junior, Forward South Weymouth, Mass.)
Piacentini had a monster four-point game in Norwich's only action of the week, helping lead the Cadets to a 7-2 win over Saint Michael's College. He scored two goals, including the game-winning goal and also notched two assists to lead NU to a victory to close out the semester. Piacentini has three goals and 13 assists for 16 points to lead the team. Piacentini has been a part of nearly half of the goals NU has scored this season with 16 points out of the Cadets' 34 goals.

Garrison Sanipass University of Massachusetts Boston
(Freshman, Forward Northbrook, Ill.)
Sanipass led UMass Boston with a career-high three assists in their 10-1 win over Wentworth. The freshman forward posted one assist in the first period and two more in the third to bring his season total to six. He ranks tied for second on the Beacons in goals (six) and points (12) heading into winter break.

Austin Evans Norwich University
(Freshman, Forward Whistler B.C.)
Evans tallied three assists to help lead Norwich to a 7-2 win over Saint Michael's in the Cadets' only game of the week. He also finished as a +3 on the day as he set a new single-game career high for assists in a game. Evans has one goal and six assists for seven points to lead all NU freshmen.
