Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through November 8. Kevin Salvucci and Ty Reichenbach of Norwich University were named Player of the Week and Goaltender of the Week respectively for their performances in the opening weekend of NEHC play. Saint Anselm's Jeremy Carignan was honored as the league's Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week
Kevin Salvucci Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward Plymouth, Mass.)

player Salvucci scored three total goals on the weekend, including both game-winning goals to lead Norwich to a 2-0, four-point weekend sweep in Maine. Salvucci scored the game-tying goal and the eventual game-winning goal in the last 10 minutes of Friday's come-from-behind 5-2 win over Southern Maine. He also added the lone goal at the 2:51 mark of overtime to lift Norwich to a 1-0 win over UNE on Saturday.

Goaltender of the Week
Ty Reichenbach Norwich University
(Junior, Goaltender Billings, Mont.)

player Reichenbach was superb in his first start of the 2015-16 season, turning aside all 27 shots he faced to pick up a shutout and help backstop Norwich to a 1-0 OT win over UNE on Saturday. The shutout was the fourth of his Norwich career in his second season with the Cadets after spending his freshman season at AIC.

Rookie of the Week
Jeremy Carignan Saint Anselm College
(Freshman, Forward Amos, Que.)

player Carignan posted a three-point weekend for the Hawks as they opened the 2015-16 campaign with a pair of NEHC victories. The freshman recorded an assist on the Hawks' opening goal in Friday's win over Castleton. On Saturday his power play goal in the first period opened the scoring for the Hawks as they defeated Skidmore 4-2. He added another tally late in the third period to seal the victory.



Honor Roll

Will Laking Castleton University
(Senior, Forward Orillia, Ont.)

Laking played a pivotal role in Castleton's attack on Sunday, accounting for three points from one goal and two assists as the squad played to a 3-3, overtime draw at New England College. The senior forward scored the Spartans' opening goal of the contest before providing the service for both of Castleton's goals in the final 2:37 of play that forced overtime. On the season, Laking leads the team in points (4) with two goals and two assists.

Mason Riley University of New England
(Senior, Goaltender Turnersville, N.J.)

Riley made 15 saves through 40 minutes of action in the Nor'easters' shutout of Saint Michael's College. He followed that up with a superb 28 save performance in 62:51 of a 1-0 overtime setback to #3 Norwich.

Colin Larkin University of Massachusetts Boston
(Sophomore, Forward Waterford, Mich.)

Larkin recorded one goal and two assists to lead UMass Boston to a 7-1 road victory over UMass Dartmouth. The sophomore recorded a power-play goal in the second period and assisted on the first and third goals, to help UMass Boston earn a 2-0 start. Through two games, Larkin ranks tied for eight in the nation with 2.00 points per game.
