Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through November 29. The dynamic duo of Trevor Fleurent (Junior – Biddeford, Me.) and Brady Fleurent (Freshman –Biddeford, Me.) from University of New England were recognized as Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively. Freshman netminder, Matt Pompa (Palm City, Fla.) of Babson College was named the league's Goaltender of the Week.

Players of the Week
Trevor Fleurent – University of New England
(Junior, Forward – Biddeford, Me.)

player Fleurent recorded points in all three Nor'easter wins to end the week with 4 goals and 3 assists. He posted 3 goals and 1 assist in an 8-3 victory over Bowdoin, UNE's first in the all-time series (10 games). The junior forward also gave UNE a 1-0 edge against Daniel Webster. He finished his week by assisting on what proved to be the game-winner against UMass Dartmouth.

Goaltender of the Week
Matt Pompa - Babson College
(Freshman, Goaltender – Palm City, Fla.)

player Pompa had a superb collegiate debut with 26 saves in a 3-0 shutout of UMass-Dartmouth on Tuesday night. The first-year netminder made 16 saves over the final two periods.

Rookie of the Week
Brady Fleurent – University of New England
(Freshman, Forward – Biddeford, Me.)

player Fleurent notched points in all 3 UNE wins to finish with 4 goals and 4 assists on the weekend, and was named MVP of the PAL Stovepipe Tournament (SNHU). The freshman scored the opening goal and UNE did not relinquish the lead in an 8-3 win over Bowdoin. The freshman forward also factored in each of UNE's first 4 goals (3/1) in the weekend tournament finale against UMass Dartmouth, as the Nor'easters claimed their second title in the event with a 6-2 result.



Honor Roll

Kevin Salvucci – Norwich University
(Sophomore, Forward – Plymouth, Mass.)

Salvucci scored a total of four goals with two in each game vs. Connecticut College and No. 2-ranked Plattsburgh State in the 2015 PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut Tournament. He was named to the All-Tournament team for his efforts. Salvucci scored the opening goal in both games, his goal vs. Conn. College was the game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory. He also scored twice in an eventual 6-5 loss to Plattsburgh State in a thriller of a championship game. He has nine goals on the year to rank tied for second in the country and is averaging a goal per game so far.

Marc Cibelli – Skidmore College
(Junior, Forward – Liverpool, N.Y.)

Cibelli earned a spot on the Skidmore All-Tournament team after having a hand in every goal his team scored. He had two goals and five assists in the two games, including a goal and two assists in a 3-3 tie with Potsdam.

Braeden Ostepchuk – Norwich University
(Sophomore, Goaltender – Lethbridge, Alta.)

Ostepchuk stopped 27 of 28 shots on the weekend to help lead NU to a second-place finish at the prestigious PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut. Ostepchuk stopped all 18 shots he faced in a 3-0 win over Conn. College, he then came on in relief in Saturday's championship game vs. Plattsburgh shutting down the Cardinal offense for half the game and allowing NU to come back from a 5-2 deficit, but falling eventually in OT. He made nine saves in the Plattsburgh game in just over 30 minutes of action.

Parker Sanderson – University of Southern Maine
(Freshman, Forward – Bangor, Me.)

Sanderson picked up a goal and three assists to help USM post non-conference wins over Salem State University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Sanderson set up the lone goal in the Huskies' 1-0 win over Salem State. He assisted on the Huskies' first and fourth goals, and scored the first of three empty-net goals in the final minute in a 7-2 win over Wentworth.
