Men's Weekly Release



MARSHFIELD, Mass. The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's weekly awards were announced for games through November 15. Matt Lemire of University of Massachusetts Boston was named Player of the Week with Connor Fries of New England College nabbing Rookie of the Week honors. Babson College's Jamie Murray and Norwich University's Braeden Ostepchuk were selected as Co-Goaltenders of the Week.

Player of the Week
Matt Lemire University of Massachusetts Boston
(Senior, Forward Townsend, Mass.)

player Lemire led the Beacons to a 2-0-0 weekend in NEHC play with a team-best five points on the weekend. The senior forward recorded a team-high three assists in Friday's 5-1 win over Castleton University, before scoring twice, including the game-winning goal, Saturday against Skidmore College. Through four games, Lemire leads the Beacons with four goals and is tied for the team and league high with his seven points.

Co-Goaltenders of the Week
Braeden Ostepchuk Norwich University
(Sophomore, Goaltender Lethbridge, Alta.)

player Ostepchuk was absolutely brilliant in goal for Norwich, recording a career-high 29 saves to backstop the Cadets to a 1-0 victory over Saint Anselm. In a rare occurrence, NU was outshot 29-27 at home at Kreitzberg Arena, but Ostepchuk was up to the task every time, turning aside every shot he faced. He is 3-0-0 on the season with a 0.80 goals against average and a .962 save percentage.

Jamie Murray - Babson College
(Senior, Goaltender Scituate, Mass.)

player Murray stopped all 53 shots he faced while posting back-to-back shutouts over the weekend for the nationally-ranked Beavers. The senior goaltender made 21 saves in Friday's 4-0 win at Skidmore and then matched his season high with 32 saves as Babson edged Castleton, 1-0. Murray has not allowed a goal in 147:14 going back to October 31.

Rookie of the Week
Connor Fries New England College
(Freshman, Forward Barnstable, Mass.)

player Fries netted two goals and dished out an assist to lead the Pilgrims over Saint Michael's College in NEHC action Friday night. This performance marked the Barnstable Mass native's first multi-point game of his collegiate career.



Honor Roll

Dan Casey Babson College
(Junior, Forward Chatham, N.J.)

Casey scored the game-winning goal in back-to-back contests as nationally-ranked Babson opened league play with a pair of road wins. The junior forward tallied the first goal in Friday's 4-0 victory at Skidmore and then recorded the only goal of the game in Saturday's 1-0 win at Castleton.

Shane Joyce Saint Anselm College
(Sophomore, Goaltender Pembroke, Mass.)

Sophomore Shane Joyce accumulated 85 total saves for Saint Anselm on the week, including a stout 26 against NEHC frontrunner Norwich Friday night in Northfield. Joyce gave up just one goal while recording a .963 save percentage against the Cadets alone, then added a season-high 32 stops Saturday afternoon in a victory against Saint Michael's.

Bryan Sullivan Saint Anselm College
(Senior, Forward Burlington, Mass.)

Senior Bryan Sullivan recorded a whopping five assists on the week, including three in the Hawks' NEHC victory vs. Saint Michael's College. Sullivan also tacked on two more helpers in a non-conference contest vs. Salem State University.

Brett Kilar New England College
(Junior, Goaltender Coto de Caza, Calif.)

Kilar finished the week 1-1-0 in net for the Pilgrims. Kilar totaled 49 saves over the two games, including a 21 save performance in a shutout win over St. Michael's on Friday night and then stopped 28 saves in a tough 3-1 loss to undefeated Norwich on Saturday.
